When driving along the road that from the “S. Vitale” provincial road near Castenaso leads to Budrio, to the lands of the ”Mercato fuori porta” (market just outside the town), you can spot the inn called “Il Loghetto”. If you stop and look at the architectural structure of the building, which is surrounded by a picturesque park of age-old trees, you will immediately realize that you are in front of a typical rural building of the Bolognese countryside: a farming court where you can still see the “casella” or hemp storehouse, a little lake in which ducks and geese wallow undisturbed, the well and the still functioning wood-burning oven which is built in a little house that used to be the shelter for the poultry. The name “loghetto”, in fact, comes from Latin and means “little place or little farm”. In the second half of the 80es the farm house was wisely restored preserving the main original features unaltered: for example, in the 10 rooms of the inn on the first floor you can see very well the wooden beams with peculiar curving, which were deliberately used by the XVIII-century- builders to obtain the optimum stability of the building and which now make every room particularly comfortable and individual
